How To Fight Alcohol Addiction

- Image via Wikipedia
People who have never tasted alcohol did themselves the biggest favor of the century. I sometimes think I should never have started drinking because stopping has been such a difficulty for years. But with time I managed to quit my habit and enforce a new personality. To be able to do this too I have a little bit of advice you might find useful.
Friends are peers for life depending on how long you keep them. But if you have friends that you think are spoiling your ability to control alcohol consumption then I think you must part ways with them for quite some time. Against popular belief old friends can never be lost, but new ones can be made. Stop living with bad peers if you want to do yourself a favor.
But when I moved out and started staying in my own place I was able to abstain from binge drinking and assert myself more by having the only and most superior opinion in my flat, I was staying alone. When you live with people who don’t represent what you want to become a transition will be very difficult indeed.
There is no real point in trying to quit alcohol when you don’t have anything to replace it with. This is about finding an alternative activity to replace your alcohol addiction so that you have your thoughts occupied. What I did was buff up the entertainment in my flat by getting video and board games as well as a left handed electric guitar. So when I thought of drinking I would drink at home and I would not even think about abusing alcohol, it was fun.
What can happen is that you will be abusing alcohol not that it tastes so good but because there is something you’re missing in your life. In other cases it can mean that you’re depressed about something. Whatever it is you must be sure to get rid of the triggering agent because that is what keeps you drinking. Arranging your life is like sorting clothes in home storage shelves.
Eating healthy and making sure you have enough food is a surefire way to quit alcohol. When a person is an alcoholic they sacrifice a necessity to fuel their addiction. And in most of the cases it is good food. Take some time off alcohol - Control Alcohol - and satisfy a hidden urge to eat properly cooked food. Believe me, the very instant you feel the pleasure of living healthy you will never go back.
Alcohol addiction can be overcome if you put your mind to it. Just tell yourself you want it more than anything else and you will get over your addiction in no time, it will be more like sucking it out with a dyson upright vacuum cleaner.

Great post! Thanks for approaching everything in a no-nonsense manner. The more honest the approach you take, the more likely the alcoholic will be to respond in the right way.
Keep up the good work!
