How You Can Improve Your Vertical Leap

There are many athletes that want to learn how to increase your vertical jump, but have not had luck in finding an effective way to do that. Why is jumping higher so important? Because when you can jump higher than the next guy you have an unfair advantage over him. 

One of the main mistakes that most basketball players make when trying to increase their vertical jump is to follow the wrong type of training routine. The wrong type of routine will cause you to fail every time you try to increase your vertical jump. 

For anyone that is looking for effective training you need to do a couple of different things. The following are the important things that will help you effectively improve your jump. 

One: Find effective training program – Most people don’t realize that most of the training programs that are available these days only teach you how to work on one facet of jumping. There are 9 different facets that are important to work on and the right program will teach you how to improve all nine for effective vertical jumping. 

Two: Mentor or coach – If you are really serious about increasing your vertical then you have to have a mentor or coach that will give you the right advice and help. Working with an expert who can guide you along the way and help you avoid all the mistakes most people make is crucial if you want to get fast results. 

Three: Right diet – Most athletes will eat healthy because they know that it is a good idea for their training, but most don’t realize that they are still eating the wrong foods. You must learn about correct nutrition because the better fuel you give your body, the better it will perform and the higher you will be able to jump. 

Protein is vital to your success because it helps build muscle. Protein helps your damaged muscles recover and grow stronger. 

Four: Exercising – This is essential, but you have to make sure you are doing the right type of exercises. Leg exercises are some of my favorite because they help build fast twitch muscle fibres which naturally increases your jumping ability. 

Knowing how to increase your vertical jump is only half the battle. When you have found a program that is proven to help people ump higher all that’s left to do is put some effort in to see the same kind of results.
