Your Questions About Japanese Tattoo Symbols For Family

John asks…

1st tattoo – help please?

hi, hoping someone can help. I have some really clear ideas to what i want for my 1st tat, mid back, to inc the following – my star sign (aries), 4 stars for my brothers and sisters, and i would like help with the following: a symbol meaning “family” – or japanese, chinese lettering etc and “Grandparent” – is for my grampy who passed away last month – any suggestions of how this may look / anything else I need to consider would be appriciated.
I would also like to include something to symbolize my dog “Merlin” and did think about getting his paw print tattoo‘d but think perhaps this would be better on its own on my foot as my 2nd??
Thanks

I can’t help you with the Japanese/Chinese lettering, but for the general ‘look’ of the tattoo, I would just play around with the different images you want to see if you can fit them all into a good-looking tattoo. When I got mine, I drew lots of pictures before I decided on my final design. If you’re not a confident doodler, then I suggest you take your ideas to a tattoo-artist, most are more than willing to help with the design.

I do get the impression you are trying to get too much into one design, but that is probably personal preference more than anything else!

Hope it goes well 🙂

Laura asks…

I’m getting 2 tattoos within the next few days. I would like to get a third to sort of remember people that

I’ve lost. My mom, my aunt, my great grandmother, my uncle, and just yesterday my 19 yo. cousin. All of these people with the exception of my great grandmother died at very young ages. I was very close to all of them. Any ideas on a tattoo to help remember them. I don’t want family. Right now, the other two words will be in Japanese symbol for the words “accept” and “forgive.” Anything that can be tied in with those? Just any suggestions would help. Thank you all.

If you’re not Japanese, then don’t get a Japanese tattoo.
I personally think that its really tacky when someone gets it.

Betty asks…

Symbol meaning family ?

Im looking for a symbol that means family so that my siblings and I can get it tattooed. We dont want any chinese/japanese characters or a coat of arms.

Thanks for your help !

admin answers:

The most common symbol used to represent family is a tree.

Other than that, you could search for more at symbols.com
There are different symbols, I just didn’t want to copypaste each link here.

Hope this helps! 🙂

Mary asks…

What should I get??????

About me:
I am my own person, I keep to myself. I do my own thing. I like music. I’m catholic and proud of it.

I want to get a tattoo on my wrist. I’m thinking maybe a cross, the words Child of God, or a japanese symbol for either family or strength.
But I need more ideas! Anyone?

If i were you i the tattoo in a place where when ur old and gray u wont be able to see it or if u go to work they wont see it to easily so get it on your hip or something or at the bottom part of your back. And i say go for a japanese symbol that says strength and something relating it to god.

Im catholic too =)

Linda asks…

Ideas for a HAWAIIAN COMMERATIVE tattoo?

I’m in a dillema right now and i’m trying
to get as much help as i can.
Most recently i’ve been thinking of a way to
commemorate my grandparents.
I’m a mix of filipino, hawaiian & japanese and wanted to
find a way to ingrate the hawaiian and japanese together.
The one way that i have my heart set on is
by getting a tattoo of our last name, HASHIMOTO.
I wanted it to be in like hawaiian lettering or symbols.

I met a guy who had the last name as me before
&& he had HASHIMOTO done in some kind of
special lettering or symbols.
I wanted to know if anyone knew a site that would
translate that into Hawaiian.
Our family is already slowly loosing them
(one to cancer and the other to parkinson’s)

I wanted to get it for my 21st birthday in December
of this year but i don’t know if i’ll have that much time,
my mind is now set on getting this before they pass on.

Anyone know a good site? Have any pics?
Time is of essence so any help would be helpful!

what i think of your story, is two plam trees with coconuts on either end, a sunset in the middle of the palms, with flowers and sand, and you could put your last name at the bottom of the sunset (even in japanese symbols).

Or put something that means to you, something symbolic, something memorable, something personal about your family.
