Your Questions About Bar Brothers Training

Robert asks…

Any tips to a few days break in Europe. I want to buy brother(35 yrs old) Mum and her boyfriend tickets 4 Xmas?

So they’ll be the 4 of us. Want somewhere that isn’t too expensive, maybe have good hostels/cheap hotels, has great food and bars and has lots to see or do. Not Italy, Portugal, France, Switzerland as Mum has already been there. Will probably want to go around mid-march.

Any suggestions?

admin answers:

Munich and southern Bavaria are wonderful places. Munich is such great fun with plenty to do. Then take the train to Füssen and spend the night in Schwangau. Hike the clearly-marked walking paths in the hills behind Neuschwanstein castle, wallow in the spa waters at the Kristall-Therme (Tuesday nights are swimsuit-optional!). Spend the next day enjoying Füssen before heading back to Munich for more fun. Be sure to see the new BMW Museum, visit Bavaria Atalier film studio, have ribs in the Biergarten in the center of the Englischer Garten, and spend a day in the Deutsches Museum. Depending where you’re coming from (your English sounds UK, in which case you’re already in Europe), flights to Munich should be fairly inexpensive. Check EasyJet and Ryanair to see how low. March is low season so you should get some good deals.

Jenny asks…

In need of a good audition song for an alto?

I am 19 years old, and a sophomore in college. I have vocal nodes but they are getting better and I would like to be able to try out for the upcoming show. We need to have 32 bars of a golden age musical theater song. I am usually an alto and with my nodes my range has been cut down even more. I am also unable to belt right now. Are there any good songs that I could sing? THanks so much.

admin answers:

First of all, what the hell is “a golden age musical theater song”? When I seen vague terms like that, it just tells me you don’t have a CLUE what you are talking about and SECONDLY.. Songs don’t COME in special 32 bar versions so that people with NO TALENT and NO TRAINING can use them without having to ARRANGE THEM. From YOUR question, it’s obvious that what YOU want is a song for someone WHO CAN’T SING and HAS NO ABILITY or knowledge of AUDITIONS for MUSICALS. Here are some great FEMALE SOLOS for Auditions who can actually SING and don’t have to make a bunch of excuses for why they can’t perform

Charles asks…

How does one overcome a traumatic childhood?

I have what the doctors call a “personality disorder”. I can go from being calm and collective one minute to being full of anger and rage the next. And it doesn’t seem like it takes much to set me off. I don’t like a tough guy image. I don’t like for people to be afraid of me. It makes me feel like mabe I am crazy cause everyone seems to be afraid of what I might do. All I want to do is live a normal life and be successful at my goals. I am a talented musician and a pretty good athlete. Playing sports does seem to help me release some anger. But only for a short time. If I’m in a position where I have time to think. I can have one of those angry outbursts. I try to think positive. But it seems like sense I grew up in a violent and perverted environment its like my mind has been trained to think this certain way and I can’t seem to change the way my mind thinks. I want to change! But it is definately not easy. I wish it was! This is the type of thing abuse can cause in someone.

admin answers:

Wow, it sounds like you have been through quite a lot in your life, and are re-living it in your daily actions. Unresolved hurt does manifest itelf through anger or depression (which is anger turned inward), or self-inflicted pain, even pain to others we care about.

So, have you seen a therapist? If so, how long did you go? Did you really do your homework as far as what the Therapist may have recommended you do (writings, prayer, positive affirmations, confronting your abusers, etc.)? Not every therapist will work for you. It is like a relationship, you may have to go through several before you find the right “fit”.

I too lived a childhood that was so horrific, you would think it was untrue. The things my parents did were unimaginable. They died when I turned 16. However, my brothers and I were left to drag the baggage of all they had done to us.

The good news is that you have a choice. You can chose to live as a victim to all that has happened in your past, or, instead, you can get some therapy, work on your issues, and rise above that. Listen, those who hurt you may have had the power at the time, however, why keep giving them the power? If you remain angry, bitter and hurtful to yourself and others, you just allow those people that hurt you to keep hurting you, yet, you carry the weapon in your hands this time. I vowed I’d not give them the satisfaction.

It is like an alcoholic who gets mad at someone and goes to a bar to drink it off, they go to “drink at them”. They get stinking drunk because they are so angry, but ultimately, who are they hurting? They only hurt themself.

Evidently you want help. I hope you will be proactive and really seek some counseling. There are many well trained Therapists out there that can work with you. Don’t be afraid to “interview” them first either. Ask them how many people they have counseled that have experienced similar issues. Ask them thier success rate? Ask them if they themselves have experienced any of those same issues and how they overcame them?

Let go of being a “tough guy”. In the end, you only succeed in keeping away those people who could ultimately love and accept you regardless of your past.

Love yourself first MOST OF ALL!

Good luck. Trust me, it can be done. I lived it. I live it still everyday, but made the choice years ago to slay my dragons. You can too!

How do wrestlers lose weight so fast?

In about a week i’m leaving for basic training but I need to lose 5 more pounds. Bow do wrestlers go about this before meets? This is very important so please help!

admin answers:

My brother is alec mooradian, he’s a 2 time state champion wrestler (and only a sophomore). And his record is 114-1.
My brother usually eats REALLY HEALTHY starting that monday, like grilled chicken and maybe green beans for dinner. For lunch he will eat ppj on wheat and baby carrots. He drinks water.
Then he will run before & after he eats. But he DOES sneak some things (lol not good but he does).
The thursday he drinks alot of water after practice and eats normal, but works out/runs/goes harder at practice.
Friday he will probably work out/run/not eat much (maybe some fruit or carrots) and he goes to the sauna that at the gym to sweat it out.
Day of weigh in he doesn’t eat anything and usually runs.
After weigh in, he drinks ALOT OF WATER AND GATORADE. ALOT. Your body needs this hydration. And he will eat a ppj and protein bar.

This is NOT a fun process. But it IS how you will make weight and lose 5 lbs in one week. He had to cut down from 125 to 119 almost every weekend this year.

Richard asks…

Are people born with V-Shaped torsos or is that earned through exercise?

In general, do guys with V-Shaped torsos train to become like that, or is it something you’re born with? Can you train to have a V-Shaped torso?

admin answers:

Some of your body shape is genetic, broad shoulders vs bean pole, bulky muscles or long lean muscles…

BUT… Genetics only take you so far. How many brothers have you seen with totally different body shapes? A lot.

Anyway, Getting that V-shape is pretty simple, assuming you’re willing to work for it. You need a thin waist, and a strong back. Do pulling exercises, pull ups, pull down, rows, and dead lifts. Half of that V-shape is your thin waist, which comes from having a solid core and low body fat, but the other half is from having big lats (Latissimus dorsi, the long muscles on the side of your back).

Dead lifts (when done properly and safely) are an amazing lat workout, especially straight legged dead lifts. Dead lifts thicken the lats and will make your sides look beefy instead of like your shoulderblades fell out of place. Pull ups are a necessity. Mix up your rows to hit the muscle from different angles.

In addition to pull ups and straight legged deadlifts, my favorite exercise for building upper back mass is squatted rows, put one empty end of a barbell in a corner of a power rack or the corner of a room to stop it from moving. Load the other end with weight. Straddle the bar near the weight end, lift with your legs into a squatted position, then pull with your arms and back towards your belly button.

Do an image search for Ronnie Coleman. Mr. Olympia. He has a huge muscular waist, but he still looks like a human doorstop because his lats are absolutely amazing.
