Your Questions About Flower Tattoos Meaning Family

Daniel asks…

Tattoo design ideas.?

Can anyone help me. My boyfriend’s niece passed away last week. I want to get a tattoo in memory of her, without making her family feel awkward because we aren’t married, just dating for 2 years. I am friends with his sister (baby’s mom) so I don’t think she will say anything but its very soon. How can I get a tattoo in memory of her without it being a direct memorial tattoo. I tried looking up the meaning to her name, but it means broad valley, and I can’t tattoo that. She was a baby so she didn’t have a favorite color, personality trait, or favorite item. I was thinking a rose or some sort of flower, or a bird, or maybe angel wings, but I think the wings would be too obvious I’m doing that for her, and the family might get upset because I wasnt around her a lot. But I was at the hospital just hours after she was born, and I was there when she passed away.

I’d reconsider the idea in a month or two in my opinion and ask your boyfriend how he feels and how he thinks his parents will feel about it, but a far as the tattoo, i’d suggest looking up the suitability of flowers and pick one that expresses the type of feeling you wish to evoke, have a small tattoo that places the flower sideways (perhaps metaphorically showing the flower is placed at rest) and have perhaps her name above it with kisses or maybe her birth-death dates. I don’t know where you want to have the tattoo but id say inside on your wrist

Mandy asks…

Looking for good tattoo ideas pleaseee:)?

Briefly, I had 3 tattoos over the past year that my dad didn’t know about and I was so paranoid to let him know (btw one was in between my shoulder blades thats easily seen but I managed to hide it) I kept worrying and I was just so scared because i come from a Muslim family and I didn’t know how my dad was going to react to it because of how strict he is Long story short he found out and was upset but not angry, and he accepted me for who I am I want to get another tattoo on my ribcage representing my dad, I don’t want like a portrait of him lol but I was thinking either a quote about like a father accepting their child for who they are, I was also thinking of getting his favorite flower with his name at the end of the stem but I’m still not sure.. If anyone has any better ideas than mine please let me know 🙂 Also if there’s a really good quote that has a meaning similar to my situation would be nice too! Thanks 🙂

Ken asks…

should I tell her…………………?

I was sitting at my chiropractors office with my niece waiting for Dr. Wu to see her . I could tell something was bothering her , normally she is very happy but not today. since she did not offer I finally ask what was wrong. it turns out her dad was upset over a tattoo she had received last week….. curious I ask what it was.

Her eyes lit up as showed me the 3 Chinese characters adorned with flowing lines and little flowers just above her belt line on her backside . She was so excited as she told me “the first one means love , the second is peace and the last one is harmony”. I told her it looked great and I meant it ! this made her smile even more. Still I couldn’t help but wonder what those same characters would look like in 40 years due to the gravitational pull or was it the evolution theory?…I can’t remember .

as she went into the office with the Doctor , I could only chuckle at the thought of her father being angry , after all it was only ten years ago we had gotten our matching “God Bless John Elway ” tattoo’s……….. (we had been drinking). after the ensuing hangover wore off , we swore to each other total secrecy and to never mention a word of the “art work” to any one.

Just then Dr. Wu came out of his office ….. why does she have ” sweet and sour pork” tattooed on her butt? he whispered . are you sure that’s what it says ? I whispered back…. I could tell he wanted to slap me ! ” why is your family always writing strange things on your butts?…..too weird ” he exclaimed as he walked back to his office.

My heart sank at the thought of how embarrassed she will be if she finds out it’s true meaning. So now I have a dilemma, should I break my vow and tell her about her dads tattoo? ……..I mean , where does my brother get off thinking he’s Mr goodie two shoes !

Jenny asks…

I have a good idea for a tattoo, but I need some help arranging it, so to speak?

I love it when people have writing on their wrist/neck. I am having a Flower for my first tattoo and if I like it or can stand the pain I want another. I have decided to have the meanings of my families names tattooed on if I do. But i want to make it into a sentence, like a quote.

These are the names – Anita- Gracious
Gary- Spear Carrier
Thomas- Wisdom
Ryan- Little King
Me- Sophie- Wisdom

And my boyfriend and step Mum, but not sure if to add them because they might not always be in my life so might regret it. But they mean –
Kathy- Pure and Benjamin- Favorite Son/Son of my right hand.

Can anyone make me a sentence out of it that sounds good and makes sense?
Thomas is twin not wisdom lol
Oh and forgot my doggy Ralph- Wolf Councellor

admin answers:

In gracious wisdom, the Wolf Counselor, gave his twin, Little King, the honor of becoming the Spear Carrier.

I just looked up these images for the ‘hey’ of it:

I think that you should keep it to your immediate family (at least for one sentence.)

luck to you with this~

John asks…

i want to get a tattoo but im worried i wont like it?

i want to get a stream of flowers going around my foot an ankle because it looks really nice but i am worried that i wont like it after a while .i like it because its looks nice but i am thinking about having my family first letter of there name in it but i dont no
do u think i should get it because it is nice ?or something with meaning ?

admin answers:

People often add family member’s initials or dates or whatever to otherwise ‘random’ tattoos in an attempt to make it more meaningful, thinking that this will protect them against regret, but it doesn’t. Tattoos don’t have to be meaningful and it is just as possible to regret one that you deliberately made a contrived effort to make meaningful as it is to regret a simply aesthetically pleasing tattoo. You have to be 100% ready for both, and you’re not, by the sounds of it. Just wait, never get a tattoo while you’re having these worries. One of two things will happen – time will pass and you’ll realise you really DO want a tattoo or time will pass and you’ll think “Thank God I didn’t get that tattoo”. You won’t be wondering forever, things will clarify themselves in your head eventually, so just wait for that to happen. Getting a permanent body mod when you’re not absolutely 100% certain is very foolish and a recipe for regret.
