I’m looking to get a tattoo in hawaiian..suggestions of words?

For my third tattoo, i’m going to get a word in hawaiian on my wrist or foot. In white ink. The reason for hawaiian, is in tribute to my families past. We call ourselves war native hawaiians, and we cherish and love hawaiian culture. My grandma and mother both are known as Tutu to the grandkids, and we have hawaiian art and influences all around our house. I was going to get something to remind me always of something. either a phrase or words saying to always go towards my goals, to never give up on then, just reach for that star…anything around that….. OR something simple like aloha. or forever aloha. or something with aloha in it….i dont know let me know if u have any suggestions

Has Anyone had a Tattoo done by Kat Von D, or the guys at Miami Ink?

I am 38, and have NEVER had a tattoo done before. I want my Grandparents portrait of their wedding day placed on my right shoulder blade. My thing is, I dont want Joe shmoe, who dosnt know what they are doing, putting something on my body that is going to last for the rest of my life. So… Im thinking about traveling to eithor of these places to have it done. Have you, or known of anyone, who has had a tat done by these remarkable artist?? If so, what was the cost, and how do you get in. Do you have to make an appt, or just show up?? Thanks for any info!!

I grew up in MIami so naturally someone in the family was bound to be intrigued by miami ink. It finally happened when my brother took me and two of my uncles to get a tattoo of the hawaiian islands. It was an awesome experience, seeing the shop and how it actually looks more like a hollywood set. There is a $200 or $250 min. Price no matter what you’re getting and price will also vary greatly depending on where you want it on your body. The back will definitely up the price. The artists are pretty good, but i wouldn’t go for somethign basic like my brothers. However since yours is a portrait, it may be worth it, cause they’re mroe likely to do a more realistic job. All you have to do is walk in, although it’s funny to see a million people always standing outside, cause no one notices the sign that says ‘just walk in’ on the door. For yours, they may ask you to come back later so they will have time to make the sketch, but they are very helpful and attentive, even to me, and i wasn’t even getting a tattoo!

and if i put it on my shoulder would it look good there????

but if you can answer me or give me any
ideas!!

DON’T DO BELLY!

Think about it, if you ever plan on having children, it WILL be ruined. Unless you have all the family you want, I would not get it on your belly. A lot of people do that and regret it later, know two close relatives who did it in fact.

Meanwhile, the shoulder will always look nice. I would go for that.

Another tip: unless you really want color, I would refrain from it. Colors faded and kind of mix together when you get older, while black tats always look good.

Gotta think about your whole life with the tattoos, right?

Any good family quotes for a tattoo?

I’m getting a tattoo with my cousin in a few months and we want a a simple saying that we can both get on our ribs. My cousin is also my very best friend but she lives across the country, so we want to get something that symbolizes either family, friendship, or always being together.

We thought about getting a phrase in either hawaiian or latin, but we need ideas! Any help?
I think we decided on gettin “Always here” in french, but im not sure on the placement now.
