Tattoo Ideas for Sisters?

I need tattoo ideas bc my sister & I are planning on getting tattoos together & we want something that represents our bond & symbolic. Ideas?

admin answers:

Astrological symbol with the name in the center
Two adjoining banner designs with names of both kin separated by a heart
A family tree celebrating family members including your sister
A butterfly that depicts how your love has grown and flourished over the years
A star, signifying how a sister is always a bright light in your life
A birth month symbol or colors depicting your sister’s birthstone
A portrait of your sister
A vine design with symbols for family and love

A heart design is another tattoo symbol that can be used to celebrate a sister. If the sister is blood related, a set of two hearts can be entwined with both names of the kin. Another idea is a half heart; this design is a great idea for two sisters who want to celebrate their love and friendship with matching tattoos. Both recipients can wear a heart design and pay tribute to their other half.

Best of luck 🙂

Charles asks…

What is old and new, borrowed and blue?

admin answers:

Traditonal brides attire – she should wear

something old (often jewellery that is passed on or old lace) to represent the link with the bride’s own family and the past particularly mother or grandmother or even most distant relations that she is leaving behind

something new (the dress) for good luck and symbolise start of a new life

something borrowed (more jewellery that has to be returned – from a happily married friend or relative) symbolic of support the bride can expect during her marriage

and something blue (usually a blue garter or a blue flower in the bouquet) a sign of purity and fidelity -nowadays some have a tattoo – but that is hardly traditional.

Mark asks…

Looking for a tattoo that represents loved ones that have passed away?

I want to get a tattoo that represents friends and family members that have passed away. I’m thinking on my wrist, but I’m not sure where yet. I do know I don’t want anything huge. I’m not religious at all (no crosses) so I’m looking for something more symbolic that represents love and death. Since I want it to stand for all loved ones, I don’t want anything with dates, initials, etc. I was thinking maybe an animal that can symbolize death (owl?), but I’m up for any suggestions. Thanks.

Well for my mom’s memorial tattoo, I’m putting “RIP [her name]”, then a dolphin under it, then her birth date & her death date under that. Hope that helped…

William asks…

What tattoo should i get?

I am considering a tattoo, I know what would like the tattoo to represent but I do not know what the tattoo should be of. I would like this tattoo to have two parts, one part would be a “public” view on the tattoo that I would explain to people when they ask “what dos your tattoo represent the other part only me and a close individual will see the symbolic value. When people ask what the tattoo represents I will tell them my strength, respect for life and caring for my family more so my son. The other part of the tattoo that only me and a childhood lover/friend will understand or even know about would be my respect and love for her. I was thinking I may be able to do this with colors or accents maybe even activity happening in the main part of the tattoo (the public part). If it helps some of the things I want the tattoo to tell her is how I care about her, the times we share, the laughs we share, and my weakness to her beauty. I know this is a lot to try to jam in one tattoo but is there any suggestions or maybe links to artwork that may help me…

I’ve always loved the word stay.
I believe that when people see it they’d think it has some meaning to you, or that you like the word, or you want people to stay.

I’m getting it soon, and to me it means that people always leave and for once i’d just want them to stay. I think it’s such a powerful word, too. Telling someone to stay means so much.

Well. Yeah. Hah.
