George asks…

Small finger tattoos? Meanings?

I’ve seen pictures of small tattoos on people’s fingers, like a different symbol or something on each finger, like a cupcake, anchor, skull and crossbones, key, letter, etc. I’ve always thought they looked really cool, and I’ve been thinking about getting some, but what is the meaning behind these? Are they just simple symbols that don’t mean anything?

There is no special meaning to them, the wearer may give them meaning like any other tattoo.

Mary asks…

tattoo ideas/ recommendations?

So I’m thinking about getting a tattoo (actually I have been thinking about it for a while, I finally decided to act) and I want to bounce some ideas off you guys. At first I was going to get the phrase ‘only one’ on my left arm. The story behind that is used to hate myself on an unhealthy level for various reasons, it took me a while to realize that this is my only body and I need to be happy with it, or miserable for the rest of my life. My seconded idea that came to me was when I saw somebody with the infinity loop, I was going to do that but with a twist, I would have one closed circle and one open circle, the closed circle being my past, and meaning that I cant change it. And the open circle being my future, I can do whatever with my future but I need to remember my past but not get trapped in it. What do you guys think?

I like Tattoos with meanings behind them most of mine do.
You could do both? Have the symbol above the phrase? Or the other way around?
Or just get both in different places? Either way you have to have it there so do what feels right to you.

Phoenix tattoo question?

I know phoenix tattoos have a lot of different meanings, but does it fit to get one if I want to have it remind me that i can come out stronger from any difficult situation? Thanks!

admin answers:

Actually thats a perfect meaning for a pheonix.

But for future reference. A symbols meaning is meaningless unless you believe it. If it makes sense to you, that’s all that matters. Don’t think about what people write online, think about what a symbol means to you. You can have any meaning to any any tattoo you want. But yes that is a very fitting meaning to a pheonix.

Infinity tattoos… why people have them?

I have seen them lately… what exactly do they stand for? Do people have them for someone else, is it about love? Jw

admin answers:

Hi, well basically there are different reasons and meanings to this tattoo based on the persons own choice just like every tattoo, but you can easily find the answer by looking at it like this. If it has a word ‘wrapped’ within the infinity symbol, such as love, faith, strength, etc. It usually means they believe in love forever, to always have faith or they will forever be faithful, or to always have strength/they will always be strong.

However if they don’t have a word wrapped around it then take notice on where it’s located. If it’s on the inside of their ring finger for example, it’s one of those that usually means someone else has the same one and they are ‘together forever’. If it’s on the wrist it could mean that they might have self-harmed and they got through it and they will forever be strong or they’ll always remember it, or maybe they just like the location.

Basically, there is no ‘simple’ reason to what it stands for. The person who has it could have an entirely different reason to why they got it compared to someone else with the same exact thing. That’s the great thing about tattoos, the meaning is for you 🙂
