Effective Muscle Building Workouts
No matter your age or gender, it is important that you get in shape and actually stay in shape. Definition in the muscles looks hot and sexy for men and women, and it’s up to you whether you want to keep your body lightly toned or go all out bodybuilder-style. The more muscle you want to add, the stronger the motivation and commitment you will need to put it. There are a few muscle building exercises that should be included in every workout routine.
Always do squats. Muscle building exercises are not complete without the squat. Your leg and buttocks muscles can be toned with squats, which also improves posture and strengthens your body. Set your feet apart with each foot parallel to each shoulder and squat down as though you are about to sit on a chair.
If you are using an actual chair to guide your squat, make sure you hold the squat right above the chair and don’t let your buttocks touch the seat. Then you want to hold as you reach the point where your thighs are parallel to the floor and count to five before standing back up again. One more basic step in muscle building exercises is the bench press. Using weight is a great way of adding more to the challenge and helping to build lean muscle mass.
To do bench presses, you will need to lie on a support bench as you take off the weight and lower it to your chest. Get a bench press or support bench to lie down on and grab the weight. Holding the weight with both hands, you will need to lower it to your chest, push it back up, hold it at the top, and lower it back down again. When doing bench presses, you may feel a burn but you do not want to feel pain; pain means you are pushing too hard and it could result in a bad injury.
Another of the best muscle building exercises to use is the military press. In contrast to the bench press, the military press requires you to stand while lifting the weight which can be more challenging. The main difference between the two is your position while lifting — you’re on your feet with a military press and you’re on your back on a bench press. Remember your workouts should always be challenging enough to get you results but don’t ever use so much weight that you are actually creating an unsafe situation.
