With the massive amounts of different diets out there promising you rapid weight loss, it’s easy to be suckered in by a cunning sales pitch and a promise of results.

The problem, more than anything else, is that these diets target the wrong problems. Rather than going to the root of your weight problem, they choose to treat the symptoms. This causes anything from lack of results for dieters to massive weight gain once the diet is complete. Instead of trying to treat the symptoms, the smart diets cut to the root of your fat loss problem and slice away the issues, causing you to lose weight comfortably.

So what is it that major diets lack?

There are three major points where most diets fall short. The first problem is in the design, with most diets crafted to result in maximum short-term weight loss, but very little long-term health benefits. The second is a lack of results and an overload of promises. The third is a method of treating symptoms with temporary fixes, instead of actually targeting the issues head on.

The truth is, most diets are designed to sell, not to help you lose weight.

With the massive amount of money to be made in the weight loss and fitness industry, cunning salespeople are desperate to sell you their latest miracle diet. The problem is that most of them are built around their own marketing — they work while you’re on them, but they fail to make any long-term changes to your life.

Secondly, many diets just don’t provide the results that they promise.

With big promises and guarantees stamped all over many mainstream diets and weight loss products, it’s easy to fall into a false sense of security and trust their word. Always look for a diet that has proven results, either through real testimonials or some sort of reputable study.

Finally, a massive amount of diets simply don’t target the problems that they should. Very often, weight gain is the result of another problem rather than a problem in itself. When diets target symptoms, they fail to provide any long-term value to customers. This is why so many dieters fail to maintain their results — after working hard at their diet they end up seeing no real changes to their weight over the long-term. It’s not their fault, just that of a poorly designed diet.

Rule #1: Be patient

People like quick fixes. Long term solutions often work better, but they often take a long time to show results and require a long term commitment. Both elements often give people trouble. It’s no different with weight loss. People who want to lose weight are always on the look out for the fast weight loss diet. The problem is that fast weight loss usually means yo-yo weight loss, the pounds return after the diet ends. Many fast loss diets are fad diets that don’t work, but if integrated into an overall eating plan they can have benefits.

Here’s a three day diet guaranteed to take off pounds. But remember, it must be part of an overall eating plan and should not be maintained for more than three days.

Day #1

On day one breakfast is black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water, 1/2 Grapefruit or 8 oz Juice, and 1 slice toast with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter. Lunch is 1/2 Cup of Tuna on 1 slice of toast and to drink black coffee or tea (sweetened with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water. Dinner is 3 oz. of any lean meat, 1 cup of green beans, 1 cup of carrots, 1 cup of vanilla ice cream, 1 medium apple, and to drink as usual black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water.

Day #2

Day two breakfast is black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water, 1 egg (any style,) 1 slice of toast, and 1 banana. Lunch is 1 cup of cottage cheese or tuna, 5 saltine crackers, and black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water. Dinner is 2 beef franks or hot dogs, 1/2 cup of carrots,1 banana, 1 cup of broccoli or cabbage, 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream, and black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water.

Day #3

And finally day three breakfast is black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water, 5 regular saltine crackers, 1 oz.(slice) cheddar cheese, and 1 apple. Lunch is a hard boiled egg, 1 slice of toast, and black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water. Dinner is 1 cup of tuna, 1 cup of carrots
1 cup of cauliflower, 1 cup of melon, 1/2 cup of regular vanilla ice cream, and black coffee or tea (with Sweet & Low or Equal) or water.

Cottage cheese can be substituted for tuna, an orange can be substituted for grapefruit, frozen yogurt can replace the ice cream, and as much lemon, salt and pepper, and mustard can be used as wanted.

Important!

Please remember that this fast weight loss diet is a three day diet, only to be eaten in conjunction with an overall healthy diet. Another great idea is to ask the local hospital what they serve for patients on low calorie diets.

Hogwash! But even though they mostly aren’t true, Americans spend over 40 billion dollars a year on pills, programs and weight loss products that simply don’t work. That doesn’t stop people from coming up with all sorts of crazy diets and weight loss products. Remember Beyonce’s starvation master cleanse diet? It consisted of taking in nothing but lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water. Seriously! It also claimed to cleans the system from years of built up toxins. Who knew, maple syrup destroys toxins. Next time a poisonous snake bites someone have them eat some pancakes. Then there are the magic pills, creams, and diet supplements that guarantee to burn pounds without exercise, guaranteed. No that wasn’t a typo, they mention the word guarantee so often it starts to lose meaning. And when they don’t mention exactly what is involved in the guarantee it doesn’t have any meaning. It’s simply a way of making people think the product works.

Another diet is the VLCD or Very Low Calorie Diet. They work, and studies prove it. The problem is they are often sold to people for home use to drop a few pounds. That’s a problem because of their nature. VLCD’s are extreme diets designed for seriously overweight people. These diets often have people eat half or less of their daily caloric intake. They’re designed to be implemented in medically supervised closed settings, where people can’t cheat. When used outside of a closed setting, often a clinic called a fat farm, these diets can be dangerous to the dieters health and will generally not work because of binge eating after a period of partial starvation.

Rapid weight loss, if it works, creates a number of problems with the body. Painful Gallstones develop in up to 25% of people who lose large amounts of weight over a few months. Careless dieters can often become dehydrated because they don’t realize a large portion of the water people need to drink comes from foods. It’s easy to compensate for this by drinking more water. Malnutrition can develop from not eating enough protein over a long period of time. The body can even become unable to process protein, which leads to serious illness and even death.

Rapid weight loss is a great idea. But it’s not for most people, and should be administered and supervised by qualified medical professionals.
