Don’t Fail the APFT
The US APFT consists of three events two straight minutes of pushups, sit ups, and a 2 mile run. Scores are normed for gender and age and soldiers must score at least 60 points in each event. This test is much like physical fitness tests carried out by US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Air Force, and US Coast Guard.

Not passing the APFT can lead to loss of eligibility to awards and promotions. Failing the Test twice can lead to separation from the Army.
A great score does not only hinge on a high number of repetitions. Performance is also taken into account|Passing the test is not only about reps, but form. Each exercise must be performed according to the guidelines stated by the scorer, or else the repetions won’t be counted.
