Guide To Ultra Deep Meditation

Meditation is an extremely powerful yet simple way to relax your mind and body and cultivate a peaceful state of being. However, as well as standard meditation, it is possible to achieve ultra deep meditation states.

The purpose of this article is to give you a method that you can use to help you go into an ultra deep meditation state. The main technique I am going to be discussing is mantra meditation. I will also talk about using binaural beats to attain deep meditative states.

The reason mantra meditation works so effectively, yet is so simple, is this: by repeating a sound over and over again, you are keeping the mind busy with a simple repetitive task. This enables the rest of your mind to relax very deeply.

To begin, sit comfortably in a relatively upright manner in a peaceful room with subdued lighting. Breathe in deeply, and then as you take a long breath out say Ommmm in time with the out breath. Do this for a few minutes, keeping your breathing slow and deep.

After a couple of minutes of this, you should start to feel rather relaxed. Once you feel relaxed, just let go of controlling your breathing, and then gently close your eyes. As you relax with your eyes closed, simply allow the Ommmm mantra to continue repeating silently in your mind at whatever way feels the most natural and effortless.

The trick here is to use the absolute minimum effort required to continue repeating the mantra. It should feel almost completely effortless; and there is no correct way to repeat the mantra. If the mantra repeats slowly, then just let the mind repeat it slowly. If the mantra repeats fast, then just let the mind repeat the mantra fast. Just allow it to almost automatically flow through your mind.

If at any point you find that your mind had wondered off from the mantra and into thoughts, then do not worry, this happens. Just use the minimal amount of effort needed to gently guide the mind back to the mantra. Also, if you find yourself in an extremely deeply relaxed state, then feel free to let go of the mantra and just rest in that state.

After about 10 to 20 minutes of mantra meditation, allow the mantra to fade away, and then spend a couple of minutes just relaxing with your eyes closed, and eventually slowly open your eyes again.

As an alternative (or as an additional aid) to mantra meditation, you might also want to consider using binaural beats. This involves using a different sound in each ear to train the brainwaves to a specific frequency, and can lead to extremely deeply relaxed mental states.

  1. Something you can do to increase your focus on the topic you wish to gain insight on is to place a small object, a reminder of some kind, in the palm of your hand when you meditate. Even if you close your hand into a fist when you meditate, you can feel the object pressing into your palm. You can focus your mind’s energy on that object and this will help mind to wrap itself around the problem you want to solve. Even if you simply place the object in front of you instead of in your hand, you’ll know that it is there and it will serve as a constant reminder of what wisdom you wish to gain from your meditation session.
