8 Perfect Sleep-Better Foods

Forget what your mom told you: A glass of warm milk before bed might actually keep you up, rather than lull you to sleep. See, the protein in the milk will boost alertness–and unless it’s skim, the fat will slow your digestion, making your rest more fitful. Not exactly the best shut-eye remedy. (Sorry, mom.) 1. With thanksgiving right around the corner, we are just a few days away from what I consider to be one of the best sleep-better foods around – turkey!

Turkey contains a naturally occurring amino acid called tryptophan. Tryptophan aids the body in the production of serotonin, a remarkable chemical that acts as a calming agent in the brain and plays a key role in sleep.

I know for me that after a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, I never make it to the end of the football game before I’m asleep in the recliner!

  2. Well i don’t think it is good or bad, but i take a spoon full of Honey before going to bed or sometimes mix it up with a glass of milk. Anyways, i didn’t glass of milk can slow my digestion. Thanks for the informative post.
