Your Questions About Does Power 90 Work For Women

Chris asks…

I need a feminist’s opinion?

To start off, I believe that women have just as many rights as men, and that they deserve to be paid the same at their place of work. So do not construe my question to appear sexist. Question:

To what degree do feminists believe there is equality of the sexes? Obviously, there is an inherent difference biologically; men have penises and women have vaginas. But what about non-biological differences? I often hear the slogan “girl power” and “girls can do anything boys can do.” I do agree that woman have slipped into what were once male dominated professions such as the armed forces and aviation, but do you really think you can do everything?

Who here honestly believes women could compete with men in the NBA, NHL, NFL? I would go so far as to say a top ranked men’s high school basketball team could win the Olympics in Women‘s Basketball, and that a top ranked mens college soccer team, like Stanford for instance, could defeat the US Women‘s World Cup Team.

What I’m trying to get at I guess, is that both sexes excel in different ways. We both have strengths and weaknesses, and we can both contribute to society in different ways. I suppose I’m just sick and tired of hearing the BS that girls can legitimately compete with boys in sporting events, with very few sporadic exceptions (like 90 llb weight class in high school wresting – LOL).
To Sam: I’ve known a few women who genuinely take the phrase “Girls can do anything Boys can do” to heart. They really think that there are no distinguishing features/limitations between the sexes beyond the inherent difference in genitalia. This notion is absurd. The question was to find out how many others felt the same way.
To Gwennie B: I am not one to exclude them simply because they have a vagina, but what you suggested about letting them “try” is impossible. Find me the fittest/toughest/most athletic woman capable of being a football half-back. Could you imagine having her line up as a running back? What would a pro-bowl linebacker like Ray Lewis do to her if she tried to run the slot?

Find me a woman hockey player capable of skating with Alexander Ovechkin, executing the unbeleivable stickwork and finesse that is his game.

Find me a woman golf player capable of playing with the men and dominating like Tiger Woods. In fact, you tried to at the Bank of America Colonial golf tournament in Fort Worth, Texas in May 2003. Annika Sorenstam, the #1 LPGA golfer at the time of her retirement was invited to play. She shot 5 over par and was eliminated in the first cut. Later that year she won the LPGA tour and the Women‘s British Open. Interesting how outcomes change based on competition.

That pretty much sums up my views too.

I believe men and women, in general, have naturally different abilities and interests. We’re equally important for the functioning of society, and our roles complement each other.

I think we should all have equal opportunities, but outcome will never be equal because men and women make different choices. Women should be allowed to do physical jobs only if they meet the requirements — standards shouldn’t be lowered for women. The average man will be stronger than a strong woman, and so of course sporting events shouldn’t be mixed.

The idea that men and women are the same, or that gender differences are “socialised”, is the main area in which I disagree with feminism. There’s so much evidence against this; the brains of males and females are different from birth. Girls can’t do everything boys can do, just as boys can’t do everything girls can do. Two genders were made for a reason — to support and complement each other.

How many Muslims subscribe to the Washington Post?

I don’t because it promotes socialism, democrats and multiculturalism. But I still get to know what they say because the Internet carries some of their articles. This one enlightens us as to how Islam expands:
-2/29/12 Washington Post, USA: “Number of mosques nearly doubles in decade”
Ihsan Bagby, a professor at the University of Kentucky and lead author of the study, said, “The findings show Muslims are carving out a place for themselves despite the backlash.” And, “I think that is the best message we can send to the world and the Muslim world in particular.”

And what is this “best message” “we” can send to the 1.5 billion Muslims in the world? That Islam’s strategy in Europe will work in America also, to wit:
-1/29/07 Daily Telegraph UK: 40% of Muslims, ages 16 to 24, want Sharia law; 13% admire al-Qaeda; 36% believe apostates should be executed; 75% believe that women should wear veils.
-7/27/08 Sunday Times UK: 33% of Muslim students support killing for islam; 33% want world Islamic law.
-1/30/09 Timesonline UK: Muslim population growth between 2004 and 2008 was ten times greater than the rest of society.
-8/8/09 Daily Telegraph, London: Europe’s Muslim population has more than doubled in the past 30 years and will have doubled again by 2015.
-3/8/10 Daily Telegraph: Islamic law does not, of course, accept that men and women have equal rights. Sharia courts in Britain have already judged that a man may have up to four wives at any one time; that a wife has no property rights in the event of divorce; that a woman may not leave her home without her husband’s consent; and that a woman cannot marry without the presence and permission of a male guardian.
-7/10/10 Sunday Times, UK: Islamic law has been officially adopted in Britain, with Sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.
-10/28/10, Daily Mail: Mohamed or derivatives of that name is now the number one name in all of England.
-7/5/11 Daily Mail, London: Islamic extremists have called on British Muslims to establish three independent states within the UK.
-2/09 The Finnish Ministry of Defense published a position paper saying: In 1991 there were 300 mosques in Russia. Today there are 8,000, financed by Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
-8/8/09 Telegraph: Europe’s Muslim population has more than doubled in the past 30 years and will have doubled again by 2015.

In fact, this strategy is already at work:
-5/22/07 Reuters: 25% of young American Muslims believe in suicide bombings to fight the West.
-8/27/10 Gallup poll: Muslims Give Obama Highest Job Approval, 78%.

Dear Muslims, you cannot forever ignore the information the Internet gives to us regarding Islam. You can smile and say “Islam is a religion of peace!” all day long, but we know it is anything but that, to wit:

Do a Google search on “civil wars in the world.” Research each individual civil war and you will find one common combatant in 90% of them: Muslims. Muslims are involved in civil wars in China, Russia, Bosnia, Cyprus, Macedonia, Israel, Pakistan, India, Indonesia-Ambon & Halmarhera, Côte d’Ivoire, Kashmir, Kosovo, Kurdistan, Kirghizia, Nigeria, Philippines, Somalia, Turkey, Chechnya, Sudan, Yemen, Thailand, Uganda, Azerbaijan and East Timor. Muslims fight against Zoroastrians, Copts, Hindus, Jews, Christians, animists, communists, Buddhists, Sikhs – against all non-Muslim nations and cultures.

Peace and love to you.

***And what is this “best message” “we” can send to the 1.5 billion Muslims in the world? ***

We need them to answer the question if Muhammad was truly faithful as Islam teaches.

Being the oldest religion because it claims Adam to Ismael to be Muslim prophets, we know that Muslims totally rejected Allah and His prophets from the start. The proof is that Muslims do not have one historical document or artifact demonstrating that followed ANY of the first 24 prophets.

In addition, all other religions have corrupted scriptures, Muhammad is the sole provider of truth to the world. Being the last prophet before the Messiah, there is no hope of anyone providing us information about Allah accept Muhammad.

As Ismal teaches, Muhammad did everything Allah said. Therefore, anything put into the Quran was intended by Allah to be in the Quran and anything left out of the Quran was intended to be left out of the Quran.

But if the Quran was complete as logic dictates, then there would be no need for non-prophets following the prophet to write anything. First, they would not know what to right as they were neither guided by Allah or the prophet. Second, as Allah, who is rich in mercy, would not have held back anything so that non-prophets would not need to write anything.

Yet, they did attempt add to the Quran to fill holes in what Muhammad is said to have left incomplete. But it is impossible for Muhammad to have left a hole that non-prophets could fill without the guidance of Allah or His prophet.

There is no rational for anyone to write anything after the prophet yet many in Islam wrongly believe Muhammad would have left a hole.

I mean, this makes as much sense as these same non-prophets burning the different translations of the Quran and there be 100 translations of the Quran which no one can burn. Which is it? Burn translations or not? But both prove corruption.

Hope this helps

Ken asks…

Do you know how wonderous Banana is?

This is interesting.
After reading this, you’ll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.

But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

DEPRESSION: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills – eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

ANEMIA: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

BLOOD PRESSURE: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

BRAIN POWER: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power.. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

CONSTIPATION: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

HANGOVERS: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

HEARTBURN: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

MORNING SICKNESS: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

MOSQUITO BITE: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

NERVES: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

ULCERS: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL: Many other cultures see bananas as a ‘cooling’ fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

SMOKING AND TOBACCO USE: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

STRESS: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

STROKES: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

WARTS: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four
POLL: Do you think it is interesting?
The ending paragraph:

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, ‘A banana a day keeps the doctor away!’

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe…polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !!!

John asks…

Do Conservatives prefer corporate profits over preventing birth defects?

It would seem so:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/26/opinion/krugman-springtime-for-toxics.html?_r=1&hp

“I got my wish, in the form of new Environmental Protection Agency standards on mercury and air toxics for power plants. These rules are long overdue: we were supposed to start regulating mercury more than 20 years ago. But the rules are finally here, and will deliver huge benefits at only modest cost.

So, naturally, Republicans are furious. But before I get to the politics, let’s talk about what a good thing the E.P.A. just did.

As far as I can tell, even opponents of environmental regulation admit that mercury is nasty stuff. It’s a potent neurotoxicant: the expression “mad as a hatter” emerged in the 19th century because hat makers of the time treated fur with mercury compounds, and often suffered nerve and mental damage as a result.

Hat makers no longer use mercury (and who wears hats these days?), but a lot of mercury gets into the atmosphere from old coal-burning power plants that lack modern pollution controls. From there it gets into the water, where microbes turn it into methylmercury, which builds up in fish. And what happens then? The E.P.A. explains: “Methylmercury exposure is a particular concern for women of childbearing age, unborn babies and young children, because studies have linked high levels of methylmercury to damage to the developing nervous system, which can impair children’s ability to think and learn.””

“Even so, the payoff to the new rules is huge: up to $90 billion a year in benefits compared with around $10 billion a year of costs in the form of slightly higher electricity prices. This is, as David Roberts of Grist says, a very big deal.

And it’s a deal Republicans very much want to kill.

With everything else that has been going on in U.S. politics recently, the G.O.P.’s radical anti-environmental turn hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves. But something remarkable has happened on this front. Only a few years ago, it seemed possible to be both a Republican in good standing and a serious environmentalist; during the 2008 campaign John McCain warned of the dangers of global warming and proposed a cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions. Today, however, the party line is that we must not only avoid any new environmental regulations but roll back the protection we already have.

And I’m not exaggerating: during the fight over the debt ceiling, Republicans tried to attach riders that, as Time magazine put it, would essentially have blocked the E.P.A. and the Interior Department from doing their jobs.

Oh, by the way, you may have heard reports to the effect that Jon Huntsman is different. And he did indeed once say: “Conservation is conservative. I’m not ashamed to be a conservationist.” Never mind: he, too, has been assimilated by the anti-environmental Borg, denouncing the E.P.A.’s “regulatory reign of terror,” and predicting that the new rules will cause blackouts by next summer, which would be a neat trick considering that the rules won’t even have taken effect yet.

More generally, whenever you hear dire predictions about the effects of pollution regulation, you should know that special interests always make such predictions, and are always wrong. For example, power companies claimed that rules on acid rain would disrupt electricity supply and lead to soaring rates; none of that happened, and the acid rain program has become a shining example of how environmentalism and economic growth can go hand in hand.

But again, never mind: mindless opposition to “job killing” regulations is now part of what it means to be a Republican. And I have to admit that this puts something of a damper on my mood: the E.P.A. has just done a very good thing, but if a Republican — any Republican — wins next year’s election, he or she will surely try to undo this good work.”

Sharon asks…

My boyfriend’s family is being rude?

I’ve been dating my guy for two months, I lost a good bit of weight before I met him (20 lbs) I’m now 5’3 and 130, trying to get down to 115. (I met him when I was about 135 so he didn’t see a significant change in me). I was an obese child (when I was 11 I was 4’9 and 152 lbs), so I have to work super super hard to be where I am (watching what I eat very closely and working out regularly) as I gain weight so easily.

My boyfriend’s family is constantly pushing food on me, its not a matter of politely offering me a brownie and moving on with their lives, its a matter of having to defend myself and my food choices every time we go out to eat, getting eye rolls when I go to work out, being given a hard time for not having “sugar free dessert” at a breakfast buffet (yes you heard me correctly, breakfast), them asking me what I had for dinner and saying “I KNEW you was gonna order a salad!” and making snide remarks like “trying to get her to eat now” I’m 5’3 130 im not even CLOSE to underweight but good grief I think these people are trying to give me an eating disorder! I already think about food too much as is I really don’t need this and I don’t need to think about it anymore, its getting to the point where I find myself on guard when I order a salad when I’m out with friends and I’m surprised when they aren’t making comments, its like I’m ready and on guard to have to explain my order. At the breakfast buffet we spent about 90% of the breakfast having a discussion on why I just had cereal and fruit.

Most of his family is heavy (not my boyfriend though he lost weight before he met me), other than my boyfriend there is only one other thin person but he has a high metabolism and can give into their pushing all he likes with no consequences to his waist line (I hate him lol)….

His mother is one of the pushers and she even says “I wish I looked like you” I’m flattered but I really cant take this anymore, I’m tired of everytime I eat having to defend myself at the table (I should say battleground). I know this sounds rude but its like they have no will power and don’t want me to have any either, and ofcourse my boyfriend does nothing. I told him this bothers me and he says “well my mom is a big woman.” My taste buds have changed big time and I dont even want the junk anymore I feel HORRIBLE after I eat it (not guilty horrible like sick horrible).

What should I do? He won’t help, yet I don’t know if I should say something to them myself (I dont know if its appropriate since we’ve only been together for 2 months), if it were my own friends or family I’d say something but I don’t want to burn bridges with them.

I’m not completely recovered from my heavy past and trying to have a healthier relationship with food so I don’t need to be any more obsessed than I already am, what should I do?
Not to mention that I went to fat camp for a couple of summers, my first time when I was only 11 years old and for six weeks and had a bunk full of people with severe emotional problems so when people act as if my body just comes naturally to me I want to SCREAM!
